Cameron Brent Johnson is a screenwriter and novelist from Texas and South Louisiana.

He co-wrote Episode 108, “Flight of the Bumblebee,” for Yellowjackets (Showtime) alongside Liz Phang; he and the writing staff were nominated for two WGA Awards (Best Drama and Best New Series).

In a previous life, Cameron could be found toiling away in neuroethology and neuropharmacology labs. He transitioned to screenwriting with an M.F.A. from the John Wells Division of Writing for Screen & Television at the University of Southern California. He obtained his B.A. in Neuroscience from Colorado College and is professionally published as first author in the Journal of Comparative Neurology.

Cameron has served as showrunner’s assistant and writers’ assistant for Designated Survivor (Netflix), as showrunner’s assistant, writers’ assistant, and script coordinator for Yellowjackets (Showtime), and has prior experience in development and current programming.

He was a Top 15 Finalist for Outfest’s 2020 Screenwriting Lab, and a Finalist for WB’s 2022 Writers’ Workshop.

He’s currently at work on a novel and more scripts. Always more scripts. SOS.
